Thanks to listener Cooper Boyer for sending in these screen captures. These are from the Pilot episode of Fringe near the end of the episode directly after John Scott kills the brother around an hour and 13 minutes into the episode. He is standing on a street corner and only appears on screen for a second.

Good eye from Cooper. I wonder what else like this is in the show?

Definitely not alter-Walter. The man’s hairline, while not obvious, is significantly different, as his temple line is much “neater” than Walter’s.

    Odd.

The first one for me doesn’t look like Walter. But the second one, it looks like Walter. What should I answer? LOL.

David - I would think your argument would be a call for this being ‘alter’. I would expect differences in characters when we finally see ‘alter’ vs ‘our’ universe. I don’t believe we have seen personality/physical differences yet to determine if we are seeing alternate universe or not. Anyone chime in if I’m incorrect.

Looks mighty similar….. posture, jawline, and I think the hairline looks pretty close. Might not bet my life on it, but I’d bet a cookie it’s him.

Could Alter-Walter be a Watcher with hair?

[...] Vote on our Alter-Walter poll here. [...]

I submitted a query to J.R. Orci about this - I’ll let you know if he responds (I know this is semi-cheating, but it’d be interesting if he answers yes or no.)

Art - you make a very good point - one would think there would have to be subtle differences between Walter and “alterWalter”! by the way, if by chance Orci responds, I won’t say anything until poll results are announced.

I practically zoomed them to death and I’m saying.no. The guy is probably a little younger and he seems to have different facial features. At least that’s how I interpret those couple of pixels. :)

I wonder what the ads behind him say..

I think it is a big easter egg and important to know. Like what JJ & co. did in the LOST pilot.
