Why didn’t they just use the hippie chick that could see Peter’s glow? It would have saved a lot of time. The characters stories would not have been forwarded as much, but she could already detect people from the other side, so they could have spent more time looking for the building that was going to cross over.
Ed, sorry, but I disagree with you. The stories would have been forwarded way too much and improperly Olivia wasn’t in her comfort zone with Peter yet, which would have made it easier for her to turn on him. Also, her anger with Walter and his shady past wasn’t intense enough yet. Hippie chick squealing on Peter would have messed up so much. The Fringe department would propably be shut down or taken over if the government found out one of the othersiders and the man who started all this were both holding influenctial postions in the deparment.
Also, many shippers would be left with broken hearts and could-have-beens, cuz this would have ruined the Olivia-Peter relationship before it even started. And it still might.

Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like a pulse behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls but pass it does. Even during 8 week hiatuses. ☺
The hippie chick saw Peter the last time & didn’t tell. I don’t think she would have told this time because of her feelings for Walter.
The fact that Olivia now can see gives her an added weapon in the battle. Also the back story is better served in the way the story is unfolding now.
Part of me thinks alter Walter is the one behind the whole thing on the other side because of the abduction of his son to this side.
